"Our organization has been serving the residents of Caswell County and the surrounding area for more than 30 years," Ms. Deal said. Established in 1978, Caswell Family Medical Center has been providing comprehensive quality health care services since its inception. "The grant from The Duke Endowment will give us additional resources to move forward technologically. With the new system we can track and organize the statistical data that government agencies require, as well as generate reports on user-defined elements. Other features of the system include a more streamlined billing capability, simplified referral tracking, improved coding, lab interfaces, file sharing among statewide health center networks, and the flexibility to easily add reporting fields as the government requires new or different information. Transitioning from a paper health record to an EMR will also improve efficiency and potentially avoid errors. Having a quality and efficient system will enable us to provide a faster and more convenient service that can increase patient satisfaction and attract new customers in a competitive environment."
